Today's questions are all about biblical, healthy living. And more specifically, the questions are all seem to be geared towards teaching these courses or just taking the courses on your own where's the best place to start.
1. I'm praying about starting a Healthy Living Bible study in my church, and I thought about doing the 40 day transformation first, but I didn't know what you would recommend. Also, if we start with the 40 day transformation, can I just buy the course and then let the entire group just watch the course from there.
When people ask what Bible study to start with, I always say the treasures of healthy living. It's well put together, it covers everything from Genesis to Revelation, it has the nuggets people are looking for. It's just well done. It has the videos, it has the Leader Guide, it has a student guide, it has the books, it's just a simple class to teach. And you could divide it up into two sessions, classes one through six, and then classes 12, seven through 12. It's just well done. And so you can also get the DVDs to go along with it. Or you can buy the download version of the videos. It's just a simple package.
2. Is there a devotional I can lean on for the next 40 days?
Yes and no. So the 40 day transformation definitely needs a devotional to go with it. And once I saw your question, I've submitted it to our team and I said Lorraine's on target here, we need a 40 day devotional to go with the 40 day transformation.
3. Is there a way to reset my relationship with food?
There is a way to reset your relationship in any area of your life that is in the wrong place. It could be finances, it could be your marriage, it could be your work, it could be exercise, it is all the same. This is exactly what the 40 day transformation is about. It's about that mental reset. It's about re confirming what is true and what's not. We start with your beliefs.
These are thoughts and thoughts lead to beliefs, beliefs, lead to behavior and behaviors lead to either a blessing or a curse. Go back and check out Deuteronomy. Moses clearly spells this out. And our relationship with food. We start with what we believe. Is that true? What are the reasons you're eating? When are you eating? For this? We use the hunger satisfy journal or just your own notepad, journal, all your food that you eat all the thoughts about that food, and then journal, how do you feel afterwards? Because some foods trigger more eating.
